January is National Blood Donor Month

According to AABB, formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks, National Blood Donor Month is intended to encourage donors to give or pledge to give blood during winter months, when blood is traditionally in short supply.

You may be eligible to donate blood if you are at least seventeen years of age (or younger in some states, with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and meet other donor requirements.
